Introduced in 2012, this variant of Model 500 series features FLEX TLS (Tool-less Locking System), which allows user a simple method of changing stocks, fore-ends and recoil pad. Chambered for 12- or 20-gauge and offered in Hunting and Tactical variations. Also available in Combo models with two barrels, one for hunting and one for home security: Deer/Security; Turkey/Security; Waterfowl/Security. Duck Commander has fiber optic sight, Realtree Max-5 camo finish on stock and fore-end, OD Green finish on metal parts, special engraving of Duck Commander logo on synthetic stock.

This Limited Edition run of 750 units celebrated the company’s 100th anniversary. Nickel-plated 12 gauge 3" receiver engraved with the Mossberg 100th Anniversary logo on the right side, and a pair of flushing ruffed grouse on the left, highlighted in 24-karat gold. Special serial numbers MCE0000 to MCE0750. Traditional high-gloss walnut stock and fore-end with fine checkering on the pistol grip and wrapping around the underside of the fore-end. 500 series has a total of nine combination sets available to choose from. They are combination of shotgun barrels and rifled barrels for different hunting applications. Offered in both 12- and 20-gauge sets of same gauge only.

Top-of-the-line tactical Model 500 outfitted with various features from Advanced Technology International Co. (ATI). Including 6-position stock with adjustable cheek, Scorpion rear pad and grip, ATI Halo Heatshield, two 2" accessory rails and removable top rail, and three add-a-shell units that mount in nine different positions on the gun. Model 500 features include an ambidextrous safety, dual extractors, twin action bars and anti-jam elevator. Introduced in 2016, with limited availability only through a Talo Group distributor.

18.5" Cylinder-bore barrel with ATI heat shield and two, 2.75-inch sections of Picatinny rail. Magazine tube holds five 12-gauge 3" magnum or six 2.75" shells. A machined, anodized aluminum, ATI Halo Side Saddle attaches to the 500’s receiver, holding up to 9 ATI shell holders (6 left and 3 right.) The Side Saddle is also drilled and tapped for a top Picatinny rail, and one is included. The rail is grooved along its centerline to serve as the rear sight. A winged-post front sight attaches to the end of the heat shield. Stocks are ATI’s polymer Akita fore-end and the company’s Scorpion TacLite pistol grip stock, the latter having 3.3 inches of length-of-pull adjustment in six different positions and has adjustable comb.

This variation of Model 500 Tactical shotgun features Magpul SGA stock, with adjustable length of pull and interchangeable cheek riser. Barrel 18.5" with 6-shot capacity; 20" with 8-shots. Introduced in 2014.
