A perceived need for a hammerless version of Model 1907, led to the introduction of Model 1912. It actually does have an internal hammer, but recoil spring is two coils in the slide instead of large V-spring under the right grip frame, found in all other Webley semi-automatic pistols. Not as popular as Model 1907. Production totaled almost 15,000 vs. over 50,000 for hammer model.
