Webley-Fosbery Automatic Revolver

Recoil forces top half of this unusual pistol back to cock the hammer, while a stud in the frame cams the cylinder around to bring a fresh chamber into position. Early examples under serial number 75 or so, appear to be hand-made as no two seem to be identical; these bring a 100 percent premium over late-model pistols. Other low-number guns, under serial number 300 or so, also differ in appearance from later production and bring 25 percent premium. Early production was all in .455 Webley with 6-round cylinder; a .38 ACP version with 8-round cylinder was introduced about 1903, but is much scarcer than the .455.
