Any early pre-1849 antique or military issued antique Colt in Antique Excellent condition with 80% or more original finish is rare. As original finish approaches 98%, the Antique Excellent value may increase dramatically. High condition percussion Colts in their original wood cases with original accessories will add substantially to the value. Later-added improvised period or modern-made cases and repro accessories add only modestly to the value.
