Allen & Wheelock Center Hammer Percussion Revolver

Single-action revolver chambered for .36-caliber percussion. Octagonal 3" or 4" barrel, with 6-shot unfluted cylinder. Finish blued, with walnut grips. Model supposedly was made for Providence, Rhode Island, Police Department and has become commonly referred to as "Providence Police Model". Approximately 700 manufactured between 1858 and 1862.
